Our Commitment to Serving You

At Thoroughbred Motors, we take immense pride in our craftsmanship and do everything we can to ensure your vehicle is repaired correctly the first time. However, we also know that mechanical parts occasionally fail, and even the best of us can make a mistake.
If you believe you are experiencing an issue with a repair we recently performed, please take a deep breath and know that we are here to help. We approach every warranty concern with honesty and fairness, and if there is a problem with our work or the parts we installed, we will make it right.

Our Standard Warranty

Unless otherwise noted on your specific repair invoice, our standard warranty covers parts and labor for 3 Years or 36,000 Miles (whichever comes first).
Please note: Custom, Classic, Offroad use and Performance vehicles carry a workmanship-only warranty, as parts warranties for these vehicles are subject to shop discretion.

What To Do If You Have a Concern

If you suspect a warranty issue, communication is key! Here is how we handle different situations to get you back on the road safely:

1. If the vehicle is local and safe to drive:
Please give our front desk a call immediately. We will schedule a time for you to bring the vehicle in so our technicians can inspect the issue, and our service staff can review your vehicle's history to determine the best way to proceed.

2. If the vehicle is local, but NOT safe to drive (Breakdowns):
Do not risk your safety or further damage to the vehicle. Please have the vehicle towed directly to our shop. Once our team inspects the vehicle and verifies that the breakdown was caused by a warrantable failure of our previous repair, we will gladly reimburse or cover the cost of the tow(please provide receipt).
Please note: Towing is initially at the owner's expense until a warranty failure is verified by our team.

3. If you are out of the area or traveling:
If you experience a failure while out of town and it is not feasible to tow the vehicle back to Ramona, please call us as soon as possible and before authorizing any repairs at another shop. We will gladly work with you and a reputable local repair facility in your current area to diagnose the issue, handle the logistics, and rectify the situation.

Testing and Inspecting

To be fair to both our clients and our technicians, all vehicles must be properly inspected before warranty coverage, tow reimbursement, or outside repairs can be approved. We appreciate your patience as we work diligently to get you taken care of!
An initial evaluation of your concern will be performed at no charge if it is suspected to be a warranty issue. If we determine the concern is not covered under warranty and further billable testing is needed, we will contact you for approval first. You will never be hit with any surprises!
